Player speeds away from rival supporters (and the police)
Sunderland's Grant Leadbitter was in danger and he knew he had to get away fast. After some trouble making Newcastle fans found him on a night out, he jumped in his BMW M6 and sped out of town, but wasn't safe yet. The Guardian takes it from here:
He became convinced the fans were trying to follow him home to County Durham as he drove across the Tyne Bridge and through Gateshead towards the A1.
