Thomas Vermaelen to start against Everton. Wenger, “He should be available for next weekend”

Having missed Arsenal's last pre-season friendlies because of a groin injury, new signing Thomas Vermaelen should feature against Everton.

Speaking after Arsenal's defeat against Valencia, Arsene Wenger in fact confirmed the defender should make it for this weekend's game.

The Frenchman said:

He is very close.
