CONCACAF Opts Out Of Sudamericana

CONCACAF will no longer allow club teams to participate in CONMEBOL's Copa Sudamericana, the second-tier tournament to CONMEBOL's Copa Libertadores. The original agreement ran out after the 2008 Sudamericana ended. "We regret that Mexico's Copa Sudamericana designees Monterrey and Puebla will not participate in the tournament due to CONCACAF's decision," CONCACAF General Secretary Chuck Blazer said.
