Is Pato really that good?

We can't see why Carlo Ancelotti insists so much on Pato? Young Brazilian wasn't a regular starter in Milan, though he scored a lot and to give Drogba and cash for a not yet established football player is madness.

Ancelotti of course, sees Pato as a player capable of transforming from the midfield to attack and practically be the fifth player in the midfield, so the 4-5-1 formation can turn into the play with two forwards.
