Lindsay Tarpley scored a second-half goal as the Chicago Red Stars won their Women's Professional Soccer opener over St. Louis Athletica, 1-0, on Saturday at Ralph Korte Stadium in Edwardsville, Ill.

A shade over 5,000 people attended the match, and from the sound of it through several Web posts, a nice chunk of Red Stars supporters were on hand.
