Uruguay Suspends League After Weekend Fan Violence

While Uruguay's national team takes on France tonight in an international friendly at the Stade Denis in Paris, their league's first division matches have been suspended by the Uruguayan Football Association due to fan violence over the weekend. An official statement from the federation stated that "The Executive Committee has decided to suspend, as a preventative measure, the activity in the professional first division until further notice.
