I remember exactly where I was when Ben Johnson destroyed the world record in 1988. I remember the pride at beating his (our) arch-nemesis in the swaggering Carl Lewis. I remember every second. He was a massive man and his acceleration through 100m was relentless. Now, admittedly, I don't follow track and field, but I might start after this.
