Australian women go pro

While the US' Women's Pro Soccer league has enjoyed a relatively high-profile launch, Australia has quietly been laying the groundwork for a professional national women's league of their own. The W-league will commence playing in October, with eight teams including the female sides of seven established A-League clubs plus brand new entity Canberra United.
