Southend's torrid festive period is over - today's game at Roots Hall finishing in a 1-0 defeat at
the hands of Bristol Rovers.
Things are pretty gloomy down at the Hall for the start of 2008. Not only have the Blues slipped to
11th in the table, but the club is now bereft of striking talent after Leon Clarke went back to
Sheffield Wednesday.
