The Opening Match of the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup will set a new European attendance record for women's football as 50,000 tickets have already been sold for the clash between host Germany and Canada on June 26 at Berlin's Olympiastadion (above).

The previous record was set on April 22, 2009, when 44,825 fans watched the international friendly between Germany and Brazil at the Frankfurt World Cup Arena.
