Though nothing becomes official without FIFA consent, UEFA and the European Club Association have reached an understanding on reducing the number of friendlies on the international calendar. Currently, there are 12 international release dates. The UEFA and ECA agreement calls for nine international release dates, all of which would have room for two games.
