A photograph of Peru's new home jersey has been leaked on the Internet.
Designed and manufactured by Umbro, the smart new home shirt from Peru features the famous red
diagonal stripe across the white shirt. The new home Peru jersey also features classic touches such
as the rounded collar and the trim at the bottom of the sleeve.
Don't let the title of this article fool you: of course I think Cristiano Ronaldo is still
Portugal's best player. Â It's just that sometimes recently, he's had to do it on his own. Â And
when he hasn't shown up to work, the results have been downright embarrassing.
In the past decade, football fans have witnessed Portugal wax to almost Euro 2004 winners and
routine vanquishers of Brazil (in friendlies mostly, but still), and then wane to something less
I may be in the minority here, but I feel that the shortlist for the new FIFA Ballon d'Or
actually got it (almost) right. Messi, Xavi and Iniesta deserve this recognition. My argument
is quite simple: since there are already so many awards -- UEFA Club Player of the Year, World Cup
Golden Ball, etc.
I recently watched a reply of the most recent Arsenal-Fulham game -- the one in which Samir
Nasri was the star performer and scored two goals. After the requisite gushing after a goal (and

Evertonians will grudgingly agree that Torres is sublime. But ask a Spaniard about his
performances for the national team, and the response will probably be, "I prefer David Villa.
Let's meet the 2022 hosts. Qatar, a lower Michigan-resembling peninsula in the Persian Gulf,
was a quiet corner of the British Empire until independence in 1971. The time difference between
Qatar, Europe and America is favorable. The Al-Thani family has held sway over the peninsula for
several hundred years.
The news that Qatar has won the right to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup appears to have been met
with widespread cynicism and criticism by The West; from the allegations of bribery and corruption
to concerns over the tiny Arab state's strict laws, extreme heat, and lack of football
A few hours after FIFA's announcement that Russia will host the 2018 World Cup and Qatar will host
the 2022 World Cup, most people I've talked to share the same two feelings -- expectation and
surprise. Since Russia had already been considered a strong contender before the BBC'sÂ
Panorama program severely damaged England's bid, their victory announcement was not
preceded by much suspense.
