Whilst not expecting to fill the boots of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Ecuadorian winger will certainly strengthen the squad after enjoying a successful period with Steve Bruce down the road at the JJB.

Rooney: I Can Make Up For Ronaldo And Tevez Loss

Whilst I've been fairly apathetic to the departures of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez, I would be absolutely gutted if Wayne Rooney ever decided to leave. His ability, his workrate and his attitude to the game and our club make him stand out above the rest.

He has today claimed that if Sir Alex Ferguson plays him in his proper position, where he's been playing for England and scoring plenty, he will be able to compensate for the goals we'll miss without Ronaldo and Tevez.
