The curse of the away draw has returned as Lee Bowyer's 89th minute strike gave Birmingham City a 1-1 draw at St. Andrews against Manchester United.

Dimitar Berbatov gave the visitors the lead just before the hour mark but United could find a second and ultimately paid the price as Bowyer's strike mean two points were dropped.

Following a straightforward victory over Sunderland on Boxing Day, Manchester United travel to St. Andrews to face Birmingham City, a side that have not beaten United in their last 23 attempts.

Manchester United 2-0 Sunderland: Berbatov Bags A Brace But Anderson Is The Real Star

Dominant, commanding, adventurous and ever so slightly easy. It has been a while since a Manchester United display could be described in such a manner, but the 2-0 victory over Sunderland at Old Trafford could be detailed in no other way.

It was the Bulgarian Dimitar Berbatov who got the festive schedule underway early on after latching onto the end of a delicately lofted Wayne Rooney cross, to head home at the far post.

It may have been nearly two weeks in coming but Manchester United finally get their Premier league campaign back underway against Sunderland after last weekend's postponement.

The rest may have done United's stars some good with a very busy schedule in the offing, but first Steve Bruce's men have to be dispatched at Old Trafford and given their away record this year – only one win – it might proved to be a relatively easy task.

Flashback Friday: Steve Bruce’s Finest Manchester United Moment

This is going up a little later today than I'd intended, but here's a little Christmas present from me to all those who love a little Manchester United history.

With Steve Bruce and Sunderland set for a visit this weekend, I thought it'd be fitting to take a look back at one of the finest, if not the finest, moment at Old Trafford for Bruce during his long and successful career at United.

Manchester United And Barcelona To Face Off In U.S. In July 2011

I'll soon find out whether Santa Claus has deemed me naughty or nice this year, but it looks like Christmas has come early for me and United fans based in North America, in the form of a rather fantastic news announcement today.

Barcelona, who, if you haven't heard or seen by now, are pretty darn good, announced today that they'll be touring the United States next summer, and one of their friendlies will be against United in Washington, D.

Welbeck’s Fine Form A Catch-22 For Sunderland, But A Win-Win For Manchester United

Weather permitting, Manchester United will welcome Sunderland to Old Trafford for a Boxing Day clash on Sunday afternoon. And though Sir Alex Ferguson has convincingly had the upper hand on Steve Bruce during the former United defender's managerial career, Sunday's showdown shapes up to be a severe test for the league leaders.

I don't really care to spend too much time on what our rivals do or say, but it's nice to get a little laugh from one of them every now and then.

On that note, I'm not sure what Samir Nasri is smoking or drinking, but whatever it is, it's clearly rendered him a little loopy.

As rivalries go, the friction with Chelsea is a fairly recent addition to Manchester United's list, but that hasn't made it any less compelling, as there have been a number of high profile and engrossing encounters between the two sides in the recent past.

So as we play the Blues tomorrow, sit back, relax and enjoy some classic moments of triumph over Chelsea.

Champions League Round of 16 Set: Marseille A Good Draw for Manchester United?

The draw for the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League was made this afternoon at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, and Manchester United have drawn French champions Marseille.

It's the third time in five seasons that United will face French opposition in the round of 16, and they'll be looking to make it third time victorious, after a 2-0 aggregate victory over Lille in the 2006/07 season and a 2-1 aggregate win over Lyon the following season on the way to conquering Europe.

Has Anderson Done A Nani?

After another fantastic display against Arsenal on Monday evening it seems Anderson could finally start producing the displays we expect of a player who was signed to eventually take Paul Scholes' place in the team.

The Brazilian has been rewarded with a new 4 and a half year deal signed on Wednesday and puts to rest the recent speculation that his future lies in Greece or in Portugal.

After his poor start to the season, I'm sure I'm not the only one who was questioning Ji-Sung Park's Manchester United future.

Now, with the Korean in the best form, at least scoring-wise, in what's now his sixth season at Old Trafford, all of the talk is about how much he'll be missed when he has to depart after Boxing Day to join up with South Korea ahead of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup, which kicks off early next month in Qatar.

Manchester United 1-0 Arsenal: Ji-Sung Park Puts United Top Of The Table

A magnificent Ji-Sung Park header gave Manchester United a 1-0 victory over Arsenal at Old Trafford which takes United back to the top of the Premier League, two points clear of their opponents with a game in hand.

Following a quite poor match, both teams gave away possession far too easily and a scrappy match ensued.

With the build-up to Monday's games beginning to reach fever pitch we look back at some memorable matches between Manchester United and Arsenal.

Some would argue it has been a few years since Manchester United versus Arsenal meant so much. A rivalry that reached its heights during the early part of the decade has been reduced to something of a whimper recently, mainly due the the North London sides disappearance from the title race usually quite early in the season, but Monday's game could well prove crucial come May 2011.

Will A Temporary Move Away From Manchester United Restore Jonny Evans’ Confidence?

With Rio Ferdinand out for the early part of the season, Jonny Evans was counted on to partner Nemanja Vidic in the center of United's defense. After the experienced he earned over the previous few seasons, you would think that the Northern Ireland international would be up to the task.

However, it's been a severe struggle from the word go for the 22-year-old.

Manchester United 1-1 Valencia: Anderson’s Second Half Strike Sends United Through As Group Winners

When it comes to entertaining, there won't be too many 1-1 draws that top Tuesday's stalemate with Valencia.

That actually may well not be true, but when I look back at the snooze fest that much of the first meeting was (and it literally was I napped for the better part of a half hour of match time and didn't miss a thing), it's safe to say that the showdown at Old Trafford was well on the other end of the spectrum.

After a disappointing start to their Champions League campaign, Manchester United went to Valencia and scored a rare win in Spain to get back on track. If United can pull off the sweep tonight at Old Trafford, they'll round out another successful Champions League group stage run by clinching top spot and perhaps more along with it.

Monday’s News Round-Up: Get Well Soon Mr. Hargreaves

A quiet chill has descended over Old Trafford much like the rest of Britain with not much to report following the postponement of Saturday's fixture with Blackpool. But with the snow unrelenting a few rays of semi-sunshine emanated from the manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The boss has confirmed that Owen Hargeaves is in Munich having treatment on the hamstring injury he sustained during his comeback match against Wolves at the beginning of November.

Can We Really Rely On Berbatov?

Following last weekends demolition of Blackburn Rovers, one man came away with a ton of praise and rightfully so. Dimitar Berbatov scored five goals, or a glut of goals if you prefer, but was it the beginning of a new dawn for the Bulgarian striker or will he flatter to deceive as has been the case so far in his Old Trafford career.

November Review: Unbeaten Run Ends, But United Top Table For First Time

Just taking a look at how the Premier League table has changed from the end of October to the end of November easily illustrates how successful a month it was for Manchester United.

We exited October having found some measure of consistency in our results, even if it was still missing from our performances, and we were able to build off of that in November.

West Ham United 4-0 Manchester United: No One Cares About The Carling Cup Anyway

Yes folks... as unbelievable as it may seem Manchester United were beaten by West Ham United in the Carling Cup quarter-final last night. But not just beaten, thrashed 4-0 by the team stuck at the foot of the Premier League... only Real Madrid can claim to have had a worse week.

Thanks to goals from former United player Jonathan Spector and the former Liverpool target Carlton Cole put paid to the defence of the Carling Cup and also ended United's 29-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
