ESPN has finally cracked the code of how to produce soccer for the American audience. Show it in

hype and include intelligent discussions during the pre-game, halftime and post-game [.
Many scholars of art, literature, football and music will argue that the classics are far better
than the recent and current crop of artistes. Legends such as Dali, Picasso, Shakespeare, Yeats,
Dickens, Cruyff, Pele, Pukas, Lennon, Sinatra, Presley and Marley come to mind, people who were far
more talented than our present day idols.
Now that Euro 2008 is over, don't be surprised if you go through withdrawal symptoms over the next

Spain are the champions of Europe after defeating Germany 1-0 in the final of the European
Championships in Vienna. The Spanish, so long the perennial underachievers, thoroughly deserved
their victory after dominating the final from start to finish. Simply put, Spain were far too good
for the Germans and no one would begrudge them their victory.
The Premier League has unveiled its official ball for the 2008/2009 season, which features a unique

It's pretty sad when two soccer columnists who represent what is supposedly one of the nation's top

As we head into the final weekend of Euro 2008, ESPN decided to take the occasion

ESPN and ABC's dreams have come true. Sunday's Euro 2008 final between Germany and Spain is a far
better proposition for the Disney owned TV networks than Turkey against Russia would have been.
With plenty of German Americans living in the United States as well as a massive hispanic
population, TV ratings should be high.
Tonight could give us one of the tournaments great games and after yesterday's dramatic 5 goal
thriller anything else will be a disappointment. It is impossible to gauge who can take the game

At the start of the Euro 2008 tournament, ESPN pundits were asked who was going to be their star of

Pundits and fans often complain about the predictability of the Premier League. Looking at the
fixtures announced for the 2008/2009 season, the fixtures themselves seem awfully predictable too.

second game both ended 2-0.
I arrived safely in Zurich this morning after almost 24 hours of traveling from the States. I'm

If BBC Sport could be as creative and slick with their live football coverage as they are with
