Javier Hernandez was unknown in Europe when Manchester United signed him for £6m from Mexican side Guadalajara. That summer he went to the World Cup with Mexico, having just turned 22-years-old, and United fans were eager to see who we'd bought.
We first saw him as a 73rd minute substitute in Mexico's 1-1 draw with host nation South Africa.
With United linked to a whole host of big name players this summer, Rio Ferdinand has urged any player who United approach not to turn down the opportunity to play for our club.
"If United come in for you, you take it," Ferdinand said. "Even if you are a great player you become a better one at this club.
David de Gea has revealed his gratitude towards United for trusting in him, with the club offering him a five-year-deal and paying £18m for him when he was just 20-years-old.
"Of course, I am very grateful for the effort they made to buy me and for the support they gave me," he said.
Following on from Jonny Evans interviewing Danny Welbeck, our young striker has returned to the favour and asked Evans a few questions.
Danny Welbeck: What has been the main reason behind your good goalscoring record this season?
Jonny Evans: I've tried to get myself in to the box, right in front of the goalkeeper, waiting for any spillages.
Yesterday, Nani revealed that he might not be leaving Manchester United this summer, as most people had expected. This news was met with disappointment from plenty of reds, with his poor form last season leading people to believe he'd had enough chances at the club.
He didn't play well in 2012/2013, although he suffered from injuries and wasn't given a regular run in the team even when fit.
With just one year remaining on his current deal and the club not offering a contract that meets his expectation, it seemed certain that Nani would be leaving United this summer. Last summer the club agreed a deal with Zenit St Petersburg for the player but Nani didn't want to leave so wouldn't agree terms with the Russian outfit.

Jonny Evans: So, Danny, how pleased were you to get a nomination for PFA Young Player of the Year?
Danny Welbeck: I was obviously pretty pleased to be recognised by your peers as one of the best young players in the league. I don't think I had one of my best seasons but it's something I take in my stride and I'm looking to push on and do better.
Alexander Buttner has explained why there was footage of Shinji Kagawa singing "Gangham Style" over the microphone at Rio Ferdinand's Rosso restaurant.
"At United, it is usual that you sing a song or hold a speech when you're new," he said. "I had a little talk about my first positive experiences at the club, but for my buddy Kagawa, it was all a bit more difficult.
"Evans: This summer? I'm marrying you!" was originally published at The Republik of Mancunia.
Ryan Giggs has revealed that he feels lucky to have played for Sir Alex Ferguson. Giggs was just 17-years-old when he made his début against Manchester City and has sung the praises of the manager for trusting in youth.
"We were lucky to play under a manager who believed in playing young players," said Giggs.
The findings of a study into the long-term effects on the brain of heading footballs were published this week in the online journal Radiology. According to the report, footballers who head the ball with "high frequency" show piss-poor performance in memory tests, and have "brain abnormalities similar to those found in traumatic brain injury patients.
